Brantford, Ont (TNWS) – Something landed on Joe Borda’s tobacco farm on July 6, 1975. Was it an experimental military aircraft or was it of extra-terrestrial origin?

For the first time veteran journalist and author Bob Mitchell has written about this famous Brantford-area case in his book “Incident at Pleasant Ridge-A Canadian UFO Mystery.”

On Saturday, July 18, Mitchell will hold a book signing in Kirby’s Bar and Buffet at Brantford’s Best Western Plus Brant Park Inn from noon to 2 p.m. The hotel is located at 19 Holiday Drive in Brantford.

The former Toronto Star crime writer and sports reporter was one of 24 international guest speakers at the recent Alien Cosmic Expo held at the hotel.

“During the conference I gave two talks on my latest book “Intrusion-Alien Encounters” but numerous people came up to me asking about my other UFO book so I decided to have a book signing,” Mitchell said. “I couldn’t think of a better place to have it than at the Best Western Plus Brant Park Inn because the hotel was a fantastic host for the Alien Cosmic Expo.

“Those wishing to talk to me or purchase my book can also make it an afternoon by enjoying lunch in Kirby’s.”

Mitchell was initially supposed to talk about the Borda case at the Alien Cosmic Expo but then he wrote Intrusion.

“I decided to only talk about “Intrusion” because it deals with the experiences and alien encounters of four Canadians, including two of whom are local residents,” Mitchell said. “But a lot of people were disappointed that I didn’t talk about the Borda case so I decided to hold a book signing.”

Mitchell has also been asked to speak about the Borda case with ufologist Michelle McKay on Sept. 26 at the Rose City Parcon paranormal conference in Windsor.

McKay’s uncle Henry McKay was one of the world’s most foremost UFO investigators. He spent more than a decade examining the Borda case. Michelle McKay was also interviewed by Mitchell for “Incident at Pleasant Ridge-A Canadian UFO Mystery.”
